Interested in composting but don't have space?
Already composting and want to encourage and enable others to compost?
Let's start community composting together!
As part of our food waste campaign we are looking at how we can support people to come together on a local level to organize composting schemes. This could be in a street, on an allotment site or at a school or workplace.
There is legislation that you need to be aware of if you want to compost on a community level and strict rules about what can and can't be transported for compost. However these aren't insurmountable and this event is for anyone who is interested in seeing what is possible.
As a city we should look to compost as much uncooked fruit and vegetable waste as we can. However we know that lots of people can't or don't want to compost at home, but there are lots of projects and people that would like more compostable material. This event will start to address this issue.
