Heritage Open Days & Local History Group

The Triangle’s Local History Group will be taking part for the first time in Heritage Open Days – a national event concentrated over the weekend of 12-13 September, for which Brighton is the 2009 host city. www.heritageopendays.org

Lewes Road Triangle Exhibition
A free exhibition of historic photographs, maps, paintings and engravings showing the development of Park Crescent and the Lewes Road Triangle area from the 1860s to the 1970s. The Bugle Pub, 10-13 September, open all day during pub licensing hours.

Research Your Street
We plan to find out more about the original residents of the houses in our streets, and the jobs they undertook. We’ll have leaflets explaining how to research your own home or street in the Triangle (including free expert-led study sessions at the Brighton History Centre). Once you get started the possibilities are endless, and it takes four people less than a week to research a whole street from the mid-19th century to the 1970s!

Get involved with the September event, join a research team, or come along to our next monthly Local History Group meeting − Monday 7 Sept, 7pm at The Bugle Pub or contact Mary-Lou: 677141
