Some time ago the Triangle Community Group met up with highway officers from the council to make them aware of the problem our community has with parking their bicycles. One of the solutions suggested was pedal cycle parking places. Unfortunately ever since the meeting the council has been very quite about it.

anyway a few days ago i contacted the Highway Obstructions dept of the council re abandoned bicycles and also mentioned pedal cycle parking places. beleive it or not I also had a reply the next day:

"Following the meeting with the triangle group proposals for pedal cycle parking places (PCPPs) in your area formed part of a recent consultation for a parking scheme in the area."

Aparently Tracy Davison, Walking & Cycling officer, is the person to talk to and I am awaiting more updates.

So anyone interested in moving this forward please bombard Tracy with your emails.

I am currently developing the community pages section on the Argus on-line. Our aim is to enable people from across Brighton & Hove to contribute their own articles and news stories, list community events and add to a growing directory of community services and groups in their area.

I would be interested in what you think about the recently introduced "Binvelopes" in our streets???

Well it keeps away the seagulls but I strongly disagree that it makes our streets look cleaner, quite the contrary in my view.
